Waters Meeting Nature Reserve

Waters Meeting Nature Reserve, The 174ha Waters Meeting Nature Reserve in the Eastern Cape lies between Bathhurst and Port Alfred, and is named for the part of the Kowie River several kilometres upstream where freshwater meets saltwater from the Kowie River Mouth.

There are three main hiking trails through the reserve, from 3 to 9km, through coastal thicket Animals you are likely to see include rock dassies, blue duiker, otters, Kudu, waterbuck and bushpig. There is also an abundance of birdlife, including fish eagles.

3. Kariega Game Reserve: Located around 140 kilometers east of Bathurst, Kariega is a family-owned private game reserve. It boasts abundant wildlife, including the Big Five, and offers a range of activities such as game drives, walking safaris, and river cruises.
